Leave Ending: This ending portrays James showing a will to live. After battling the demon Mary, James speaks to his dying wife by her bedside and explains why he killed her. She says she understands and then she passes away. He is then shown walking through the graveyard (Where you meet Angela at the beggining) while Mary reads out the full version of the letter. The letter explains that she is now dead, and always was, and that James should carry on with his life and not be sad about what he'd done. This ending explains how James really loved Mary, but was too weak without her to control himself to get through the pain of her illness they both felt. He adopts Laura which shows that James has learnt from his mistakes and carried out his Wifes final wish, to start a new, happy life. [To get this ending you must keep your health high often, look at Mary's picture and read her letter often and ignore Maria.]

In Water Ending: In this ending, James speaks to his dying wife after defeating the demon at the hotel. He has one last converation with her in which she forgives him after he admits to a terrible crime... After she passes away, James is seen putting her in his car. The screen goes black and James narrates. James crashes his car into Toluca Lake. Mary reads the full letter, which is ironic and it tells him to carry on and lead a happy life. This ending implies James was too depressed and felt too guilty to carry on living. A very sad ending. [To aquire this ending you must examine Angela's knife a few times and keep your health low often.]

Maria Ending: In this ending, James defeats the demon and returns to the park on the lake where he met Maria for the first time. Once again, he sees her here. He explains to her how that wasnt Mary and he wants Maria with him. Maria and James walk to the car as Mary reads her letter outloud. When she is finished, Maria stops walking and coughs (muchlike Mary's cough) and James replies with "You'd better get that cought sorted out." This implies that Maria has the same illness that Mary had and the whole thing will start over again and James hasn't learnt anything from this time in Silent Hill. [To get this ending you must stay close to Maria, never look at Mary's picture or read her letter, and make sure Maria doesnt get hurt by not walking into her or letter her be left behind or attacked.]

Rebirth Ending: In this ending, James puts Mary in the rowing boat with him and rows to the center of Toluca Lake to what looks like a church. The screen goes black and James talks about "Old-gods" still being alive. It is thought that he is attempting to bring Mary back to life by performing the Crimson Ceremony. [To get this ending you must complete the game and obtain the following items: White Chrism (Found in F1, Room 105 of BlueCreed Apartments), Book of Lost Memories (On newspaper stand at the Texxon Gas Station), Obsidian Goblet, (A smashed display case in Silent Hill Historical Society.) Book of Crimson Ceremony. (Behind the headphones on the bookcase after watching the videotape in Room 312 3rd Floor (Alterate Hotel) in the reading room)

UFO Ending: Just like Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2 also has a crazy UFO ending. A UFO lands infront of James, and not only do Aliens come out, but Harry Mason too! James chats to Harry before he is zapped by one of the Aliens and taken aboard the spaceship. This ending is setup like a Silent Film, with a black grainy overlay and caption screens instead of voices.

Dog Ending: After unlocked a particlar room using the Dog Key James finds that it is a Dog that has been controlling Silent Hill all along! He comes up to James, licks his face and the credits begin. Instead of James face being at the side, its the Dogs, and it shows amusing images played to an amusing track compiled of high-pitched dog barking. [To get the dog key you must either complete the game and get the Maria Ending, In water ending and the Leave ending. (Or rebirth once) only then can you pickup the dog key and unlock this ending.
