The way you play through Silent Hill 3 determins the ending you get. Also, doing certain things can aid you to unlocking things as well. The different endings are as follows:

Normal Ending (Good) : In this ending, Heather returns to The Lakeside Amusement park after defeating God. She walks up to dougless acting very strangely, she holds the knife out and ignores Dougless who is questioning what she is doing. She acts as though she is going to kill Dougless but then stops suddently and tells him she was just joking around. Dougless comments on her "sick" sense of humour while laughing at the joke himself. She then insists that Dougless calls her Cheryl, her "real" name. She decides to grow her hair back to its old colour, but ends on the comment "Dont you think blondes have alot more fun?". The screen fades out and the credits roll as Heather is shown paying her respects at Harry's Grave. It is believed that this is the ending you're "supposed" to get. God is dead, everything is happy and fine. Not the Silent Hill way...

Possessed Ending (Bad): Heather recovers from her blury vision to find herself in the Amusement Park once again. She is standing over Dougless' bloody corpse with her knife in her hands, covered in what seems to be his blood. She has indeed led them to paradise with Blood-stained hands. Not such a happy ending. Why did she kill Dougless, her friend? Possessed by God? Thats what it seems. To get this ending, you have to accumulate a certain amount of points during the game. Points are gianed by killing monsters (10 points), taking damage (1 point) and forgiving the confessor in the Church (1,000 points). You must have 4,000 points to get the Possessed Ending.

Revenge Ending (UFO): Like Silent Hill 1 and 2, Silent Hill 3 too has an amusing UFO ending. Heather returns home to find Harry Mason isnt dead! He is in fact sitting down chatting with Aliens. Look in the background and you can see James Sunderland of Silent Hill 2 hiding behind a curtain. Heather explains whats happened so far to her and Harry swears revenge on the town of Silent Hill for upsetting his daughter. The next scene shows the town being vaporised by Alien spacecraft which Harry somehow commands for some reason. If you've seen the UFO ending for Silent Hill 1, you'll know that Harry would have never been given the new baby which was Heather, so therefore Heather should not exist.
