Silent Hill Origins Official Trailer 2
The new trailer has a alot more new material to offer in terms of what we've seen before. It features a showcase of graphics, monsters and various gameplay elements such as attacking running, changing weapons, aiming and such. It also has a nice new song composed by Akira Yamaoka (All Silent Hill games) which you can download here
The new Silen t Hill: Origins trailer starts off the same, showing us Travis O'grady driving along, then shows a long view of the camera roaming the streets of Silent Hill and arriving at the familiar location: Alchemilla Hospital. It then shows off more of the graphics and surroundings by going through a house. [Possibly wish house / the house we saw in the first trailer?] We then see the first gameplay footage of Travis walking down a different hallway, but what looks like the same house. With some fancy old, burning effects we are brought to a shot of Travis' arm buckled and bound by leather to a bed. Maybe this is a hint at his current, or previous insanity? It looks as though he is struggling to break free, much like everyone else that visits the horrific town of Silent Hill.
We are then shown a strange monster s eemingly hanging from meat hooks (in the butchers shop) this monster was shown in the E3 trailer too. Again we see Travis struggling to break free, and the first in-game battling is shown. Travis is using what looks to be a Sledge Hammer to visciously attack a monster which resembles a Lying Figure from Silent Hill 2. Another shot from the E3 2006 trailer is shown, the Lying Figure on the staircase scene. A meat hook is shown hanging and the screen burns out. Travis is then shown walk through various locations. More landscape is shown by the traveling camera. Travis runs forward and a shot of Travis looking down at his hands in dispair then covering his eyes is shown with the title "Silent Hill: Origins" over it. This picture makes it seem as though Travis has commited a terrible crime...
Silent Hill: NEXT
This trailer is a short introduction to what looks like Silent Hill: Origins. It is named Silent Hill: NEXT. The name "NEXT" suggests that it is next-gen, Silent Hill 5. However when you watch the trailer you will understand that the visual graphics, although very good, are not PS3 equivilent. So we are assuming that this is Silent Hill: Origins, here are some reasons why I believe it to be.
The camera pans around a room which resembles a butchers shop. Meat is hanging and lying around and the camera goes past a meat cleaver cutting into the side which twinkles in the light, perhaps showing the player that they are able to pick it up? As the camera turns round the room some more we can see that there is a man looking into a mirror above a sink wearing a cap. The man looks alot like the protagonist of Silent Hill: Origins, Travis Grady. We will now assume this is Travis from now onward. This shot of Travis looking into the mirror is much like the scene in the official E3 trailer when Travis is looking into an almost identical mirror and a demonic face appears which causes the mirror to crack.
Juding by the clothes, it is safe to assume this is Travis. If you watch Travi's movements when he is looking in the mirror, he brushes his hand down his face like James does in the bathrooms at the beggining of Silent Hill 2, also looking into a mirror at the same time. The action is much like a coriener closing the eyes of a dead body.
Not much else can be taken from this trailer, only that it is Travis looking into a mirror in a butchers shop. This video, sadly, is NOT next-gen footage and is almost definatly Silent Hill: Origins.
Official Silent Hill: Origins E3 2006 Trailer
This brand new trailer showing the first few images of Silent Hill: Origins, previously named Silent Hill: Original Sin, is an exciting watch for Silent Hill fans. The Trailer starts of with a fast rewind of previous Silent Hill Games, from The Room to Silent Hill 1. Then camera then quickly zooms into a "O" with a line through it, suggesting "0" or Zero. We are then shown a man who appears to be the main character of Silent Hill: Origins, Travis Grady. He is shown calming driving along until he is struck by something which shocks him. A vision, perhaps? He gasps and the camera zooms into his eye, showing a first person view of someone walking down a hallway. In this hallway we can see pictures on the walls of familiar faces and locations.
The screenshot to the left shows a picture of what looks like Cheryl Mason (Or Alessa Gillespie) and the scnreeshot to the right shows a picture of the house from Silent Hill 1, and what looks like Maria from Silent Hill 2, from the "Prison" scene. Seeing a picture of Cheryl there is no surprise because she is the good half of Alessa, the entity causing this madness, but seeing Maria is rather surprising.
The trailer contunies to show us grousome images of strange sadistic monsters and what can only be described as a butchers shop. The monsters seem to have taken the hanging hooks and blades as a benefit...Travis' truck is then shown parked in the middle of the road and is engulfed by the fog of Silent Hill. Could this be symbolising how the town has drawn him in and trapped him? Familiar monsters appear such as the Lying Figure [List of Silent Hill 2 Monsters]. As Travis walks towards the door, which we're assuming is his way out, an unusual ghost like creature in a black cloak bars his path. The trailer then ends and we see Travis' Truck parked with the engine still running and the Silent Hill: Origins logo is shown.
The trailer doesnt give away much, but it leaves room for speculation. Who is Travis Grady? Why is he in Silent Hill? These questions and more should be looked apon as TGS comes around on September 22nd.
